story centres around Camille Parker, a reporter sent back to the small town she
grew up in, to investigate the disappearance of two little girls.
She has to face many demons along the way, as her past comes back to haunt her. Coming from a small town myself I could really relate to the premise that 'everyone knows everyone's business' and could really feel the suffocation of it all for the character.
As the story unfolds, nothing is quite as it seems, families with secrets, and two little girls at the centre of it all.
What happened to them? And why?
You learn more and more about Camille's dysfunctional family, particularly the very strained relationship she has with her mother.
A mother who, just like Camille, has secrets.
This book kept me guessing all the way through, and I loved the depth and darkness of some of the characters. Its very different to Gone Girl, so dont be put off if you weren't a fan.
If you are looking for a thriller, with a female lead and an easy to follow, but still exciting, plot. This is your book!!
